Cis-Ocimene – Terpene Profile
As the second form of beta-ocimene, cis-beta-ocimene differs slightly from trans-beta-ocimene due to the location of its functional groups relative to the carbon chains contained within this type of monoterpene. Also found within a variety of plants and fruits ranging from orchids to mangoes and kumquats, including high concentrations in cannabis, cis-ocimene is characterized by its woodsy aroma and floral notes which contribute to its use in perfumes. Apart from its fragrance, cis-ocimene features several therapeutic benefits including decongestant properties along with antibacterial and antiseptic effects.
